1. Today I was walking my dogs, feeling extremely ungrateful for my little beagle who refuses to go potty sometimes, and I took a deep breath and let myself take in my surroundings. What I saw when I threw back my head and said, "Aaaargh!" was a beautiful blue sky, wonderful autumn weather, and a great big tree. I'm thankful for the tree. Okay... eloquent... I'm thankful for the feeling of serenity that comes over you sometimes when you need it most. Peace.
2. I'm thankful for my husband's laugh. No matter what mood I'm in, his laughter makes me smile and reminds me that the world is awesome.
3. I'm thankful to be an American. All of us at times get frustrated with politicians and big business, etc. but it would do us good to think of some of the things we take for granted. Like the fact that with free speech we are allowed to talk about our frustrations with politicians and big businesses.
4. Peanut butter M&M's, yum!
5. I'm thankful for the way we grew up. I used to wish that we were rich and that I could have everything I wanted. Now that I'm all grown up (lol) I appreciate that we didn't have a lot of extra money because I think we would all be very different people if money were the center of our lives instead of family. I place a lot of value on hard work and love that feeling of satisfaction and pride you get from accomplishing something. How proud would you be of your new car if you hadn't worked so hard to buy it? How proud would you be of your garden if you hired gardners to be your green thumb instead of working at it with trial and error, blood, sweat, and tears?
